Acceleration [tex]a[/tex] is defined as the variation of Velocity [tex]\Delta V[/tex] in time [tex]\Delta t[/tex]:  

[tex]a=\frac{\Delta V}{\Delta t}[/tex]  

If we know Kyle started from rest and then had a velocity of 55m/s, then [tex]\Delta V=55m/s[/tex] and [tex]\Delta t=4.6 s[/tex]

Therfore:

[tex]a=\frac{55m/s}{4.6 s}[/tex]  

[tex]a=11.96m/s^{2}[/tex] This is Kyle's acceleration
