The story is about an Indian girl Premila who is sent to a British school and meets the other students. The mother felt that the degrees from Indian schools were not that valid in those days.
Many Indian students were sitting in the last row. Premila went and sat near a girl who had a black braid and wore a black dress. Her name was Nalini but changed to Nacy.
