As per the question, Beowulf decides to leave his home as he wanted to go to Hrothgar, the king of Danes, for assisting him. The time when Beowulf was leaving his home, the Geats, as well as, the elders did not regret his departure as 'they found the omens looking upright and other such accomplishments.' They were rather contented as the omen suggested good signs.
