For the first one, add y to both sides, making the equation 2x=4y. Then, divide both sides by 2, making the equation x=2y, the final answer. For the second one (2x+3y=12), divide both sides by 2, making it (x+3y=6). Then divide both sides by 3, making the equation (x+y=2). That's the second answer.
