Why did the dna isolation protocol differ for the plant and animal cells?

Because the isolation of both are very different. Actually animal cells and plant cells are very different themselves. Specifically the difference is in the sequence of bases in the helix. Also Compounds of plan cells are absent in the animal cells. And the genomic DNA of the plant is larger than the Animal genomic DNA
