he used no violence and always peacefully protested, demonstrating to the world that African Americans were not the inferior vicious brutes that many at the time believed them to be

Martin Luther King was an American clergyman, activist, humanitarian and a top leader in the African - American civil rights movement. 
He is best known for his  role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolence
