the invese switches x and y so basically
if
f(21)=z then f⁻¹(z)=21
therefor
f(z)=21 and f⁻¹(21)=z
basically solve for the value that makes the functino equal 21

21=6(x+2)-3
add 3 both sides
24=6(x+2)
divide by 6
4=x+2
minus 2
2=x

answer is 2
