Two consecutive odd numbers are:

n and n+2

The sum of two consecutive odd numbers

[tex]n+(n+2)[/tex]

the sum of two consecutive odd numbers is 72:

[tex]n+(n+2)=72[/tex]

Use this equation to find the value of n:

[tex]\begin{gathered} n+n+2=72 \\ 2n+2=72 \\ 2n=72-2 \\ 2n=70 \\ n=\frac{70}{2} \\ \\ n=35 \end{gathered}[/tex]As n is 35. The consecutive odd numbers are: 35 and 37

n=35

n+2=35+2=37
