The fraction of the spool used for the project is obtained by multiplying both fractions:

[tex]\frac{6}{7}\cdot\frac{2}{5}=\frac{12}{35}[/tex]

This fraction is in its simplest form. No reduction is possible because 12 and 35 are coprime.
