coniferophyta aka conifers are a particular type of cone bearing seed trees. The biggest difference between them and anthophyta or angiosperms (flowering plants and tress) is the endosperm which is not found in conifers. This endosperm is the body of the embryo and what we normally think of as the 'fruit'. It is there to provide nutrients to the developing embryo.
